PWA operates on the Service Workers, in which the server of the PWA is saved in the user’s web browser and from time to time new feeds are loaded to it. So, that’s why the speed and the performance of websites improves using the PWA.
Progressive Web Apps have totally swooned the web development industry. Apart from providing low bounce rate and speed to the webpage, PWA has great importance from the SEO viewpoint also. So, progressive web apps also have positive impacts on the websites and few negative impacts. That’s why let’s target both sides of the PWA one by one, but let’s first began with the advantages of Progressive Web Apps:
Responsive Layout For Everyone
PWA is the king of responsive layouts, but that’s not the only advantage of PWA. The best nature of the PWA layout is that it responsive for all the users. The users who are browsing through the Service Worker supported web browser takes the benefits of PWA layouts. But, the user who is browsing without supported browser will also view the same layout. Maybe, few features might not be visual, but the overall view is going to be same.
Respond Like Mobile App
In PWA, everything is cached in the “app shells” that’s why it feels more like the app. We have the option to mimic the look and feel of a regular mobile application, complete with UI elements, animations like we know them from popular apps and so forth. Moreover, the Google’s developers guidelines make sure that the UI is totally user-friendly.
Available in Offline Mode
Once you open up a PWA in your web browser, then the cache of the website will automatically save in your web browser. Which means you can later easily few the webpage in Offline Mode, of course, minus the new feeds. But, still, you can view the preloaded content of the website offline.
Add To Home Screen
Similarly, like bookmarks, now you can add PWA to your home screen also for the quick access. You must be thinking this feature was already available in the form of bookmarks, so what’s special about this, well the special thing is that PWA can work offline also.
Once you download PWA in your web browser, then you will be asked for push notifications. Which will enable you to get quick messages and alerts from the website? That results in the marketing of your website and also offers quick access to the users.
Prevailing Limitations of PWA
Okay, so PWA has gazillion cool features and advantages, but still, there are few downsides of PWA are present. Like:
- To enjoy the push notifications and in prompt builds, the website needs to use the secured TL connection.
- Currently, not all the web browser supports PWA, not even the Microsoft and Apple Safari. Whereas Microsoft has started to adopt PWA, but for Apple, it is still a long road.
- The PWAs are designed to capture the attention of the mass, but, still not all the user supports PWA.
Well, for the new business owners, progressive web apps are a cheaper option than the native apps. Moreover, the PWA technology is still under construction, so new inventions are soon going to be seen. Till then gain full knowledge of PWA technology and try to mold it in your favor.
