Cheat Codes of Word 2016


Every Microsoft user has used Word at one point of his career. It’s used whether for writing important business reports or for writing small notes. Currently, Word 2016 is the latest version of the Microsoft office toolkit. And, if you have been using this tool often, then you might be wondering that you know all the tricks and features of the Word.

Well, my mate, here you are wrong because Word 2016 is a upgrades version of the Word 2015, so it does have some new features. The features which are far better and interesting, the features which are still know too many of the frequent Word users. So, if you don’t want to feel tricked and want to gain full benefit from your Microsoft office subscription, then you have to learn a few tips.

Word 2016 Cheat Sheets

#1. Ribbon interface

This interface hasn’t changed much in the latest Word. The ribbon has been part of Word 2007 and since then it is part of its every upgraded version. However, Word 2016 has flatter looking, cleaner and less cluttered ribbon. Ribbon interface has numerous cheat codes such as;
– To make the commands underneath tabs, press Ctrl-F1. To reverse the command press the key combination again.
– Ribbon feature can be activated from the display options icon present on the top right corner of the screen.
– If the blue on the title bar is too much for you, then you can turn it white, gray or black using this command; select File > Options > General.

#2. Real-time collaboration

The Word 2016 has the real-time collaboration feature which enables users to work simultaneously on the document together with the internet. This feature has been already available in Google Docs. However, to use this feature on Word 2016, you have to full fill two conditions; You must be logged in to your Microsoft or Office 365 account, and the document must be stored in OneDrive.

#3. Return to your last editing location

Well, when you are working on the documents for long period and forgets about your last edited location. Then, you don’t have to worry, just press the “Shift” + “F5” key combination and the place of the cursor last you edited will be open up in front of you.

#4. Increase or decrease the size of a selection

When you have to format the large document in Word 2016, then you have to select and edit the different content. For this, you have to select the word using the “F8” or twice click the word. So, if you want to select the particular word or line in the content, then you have the option of “Shift” + “F8” reduces the selection in an instant.

#5. Quick undo

We all commit numerous mistakes while working on Word 2016 which we want to quickly undo. To rectify your mistake, you won’t have to do much, just click on the keyboard shortcut of “Ctrl” + “Z” and reverse your last action quickly

#6. Move the selected paragraph

If you think that the particular image will look better on the next page, then you have a quick shortcut to shift paragraphs. You have to press the combination of “Alt” + “Shift” + “↑” to shift paragraphs upward or “Alt” + “Shift” + “↓” moves paragraphs downward.

#7. Insert Date

If you want to add the date to your journal or document, then the quick keyword combination of Alt” + “Shift” + “D” makes it unnecessary to check the calendar and will automatically insert date in your Word 2016
