Comparison of JS Frameworks: AngularJS vs. ReactJS

Outlook at JavaScript Frameworks:

JavaScript is very popular and dynamic programming language which helps in coding the applications and websites. Java being the so popular among the developers makes its creators to continuously make updates and changes in the JavaScript framework. The new JavaScript framework is introduced almost every week and thus it became the very hard task for the developers to select the accurate JavaScript framework that suits them the most. The JavaScript framework can influence your ability to complete the project on time and maintain your code in the future. JavaScript frameworks, like AngularJS, Ember.js, or ReactJS, bring structure to your code and keep it organized, thus making your app more flexible and scalable. So, it is very important to select the perfect JavaScript framework.

There is numerous JavaScript framework available, but the two most used ones are AngularJS and ReactJS. Normally developers have to make choice between these two JavaScript frameworks. Angular has data-binding bundled in by default, whereas React is generally augmented by Redux to give unidirectional data flow and work with immutable data. Both JS framework has a totally different approach, so making a decision between them is very hard. Well, to better understand the difference between both JavaScript framework let’s draw a comparison between these both to get the better grip on Angular and React JavaScript framework.

A Bold difference between the AngularJS & ReactJS:

  1. Scalability.

Talking about the scaling we can say, AngularJS is easy to scale because of its design and powerful CLI which makes it easy to scale. The ReactJS is testable and thus it also makes it easy to scale as well. So, both JavaScript’s are equal on the grounds of scalability.

  1. Performance compatibility.

On the grounds of performance, AngularJS fails miserably as they called on each render. It is, however, possible to use BehaviorSubject from RsJS, as it serves the purpose. React allows the use of @computed from MobX – achieving the same objective but with a nicer API.

  1. Simplicity.

Well, ReactJS is quite simple and easy to understand, it might take some time to launch the program in the ReactJS but it is for the developer to learn as compared to AngularJS. On the other hand, AngularJS is not at all easy to learn. Its inherent complexity sometimes causes confusion and Angular-specific 3rd party libraries and syntax.

  1. Models.

AngularJS model doesn’t allow to add big model due to the copy-n-compare.  The developer needs to break-down each coding in the AngularJS. There is no such issue in the ReactJS, in it, the ability of the developer decides the performance of websites.

  1. Popular Examples.

AngularJS: Youtube, Vevo, Freelancer, Istockphoto, Weather, Sky Store.

ReactJS: Facebook, Instagram, Khan Academy, New York Times, Airbnb, Flipkart, Sony Lifelog.

Final decision:

Both the AngularJS and ReactJS are very good to use but in different situations. Like AngularJS is best for building highly active and interactive web applications. On the contrary, ReactJS is perfect for large web applications whose data is set to change frequently. So, the developer should select JavaScript framework according to their requirement as both are equally functional.
