Adopt CSS codes instead of images

The images and graphics look great on the website, but they consume larger space on the server and increases bandwidth. Thus, don’t use jpeg images on your website and replace them with the CSS codes. For example, if you want to add red color to the background of your website, then use CSS code background-color:#F00 instead of a red-bg.jpg. By doing this you can reduce some amount of your server load.

Optimize your images for web

The images occupy large bandwidth space and clutter your server load. So, never use the regular image on the website as the regular desktop image is of larger size. Before using the image on the website, optimize them for the internet first.

Like, never use BMP file on the internet because they are usually larger in size than the JPEG or gif files. And, make your thumb rule of never using the image more than 10 KB on the internet. So, reduce your image size before uploading it online.

Compress your CSS codes

Well, CSS files can be quite hefty due to unwanted breaks and space which unnecessarily occupies your server. So, you can use CSS shorthand properties instead of CSS files. This will reduce the size of CSS document and which untimely will reduce the load on the server.

Use Ajax

Ajax is a technology that establishes communication between web servers using JavaScript. With this quick connection can be established between web servers and that’s even without reloading them every time.

Unable Hot links

Sometimes when people directly link your website images to their website. Then, with your images, they are also sharing your bandwidth and this will affect your bandwidth space severely. So, disable your hotlink sharing to reduce some burden on your server.
