Well, today typing URL on the web browser and searching information on the web has gone totally outdated. Because, we got applications for this task, such as after the launch of the Facebook app no one has ever browse it over the web browser. But, sometimes apps fail to provide the large web browsing experience and makes hard to use all the features.

So, in that case, Google Android has recently developed progressive web applications( PWAs). In the PWAs miniature version of your web search will be seen on the home screen. So, no need to type URL into the search engine as the URL of the particular website is available on your screen. Apple Safari already has this feature, but Google has very recently added PWAs.

The introduction of PWAs has gained tremendous response in the very short duration of time. Google’s VP of Product, Rahul Roy-Chowdhury, describes PWAs as “a radically better web experience… which users love and are more engaged with.” He claims that numbers have doubled with the PWAs.

With the launch of PWAs numerous companies has doubled their growth. The few favorable examples of PWAs are;

  • Forbes magazine has recorded double increase in their readership after the PWAs introduction.
  • The e-commerce websites have received vivid advantage from the PWAs. Alibaba has recorded four times increase in their conversion rate because of PWAs and Flipkart has received 70% jump in the interaction rate.
  • Social media platforms such as Twitter has gained 250,000 daily users due to the easy Homscreen Access of the PWAs.

Well, the stats clearly interprets that the PWAs has left some great influence on the leading websites. But, why PWAs is gaining so much popularity in the short period. Well, that’s due to the easy-going experience provided by the PWAs to the users. Apart from that PWAs offers following features:

    PWAs forms the app icon of the website on your Android device home screen. So, with the one tap, you can access the website and that’s without typing URL of the site in a web browser.

  • Quick Service.

    Mobile users always want quick and easy access to the app content. People hate to wait. And, with the PWAs people gets what they want. A quick and prominent service without any delay.

  • Offline Mode.

    PWAs works offline also. Once the user has installed PWAs of a particular website on the home screen.  Then, they don’t have to rely on the internet connection to operate the PWAs. As PWAs can works in the offline mode also.

  • An app like Navigation.

    The PWAs offers a similar experience like the apps. Like, the header bar typically shows the title of the current section in the center and the back button is on the top left. Similarly, with the PWAs, the user can experience all the app features that without actually downloading the app.

Some people don’t like the PWAs and consider them as an unnecessary feature. But, guys, PWAs has both cons and pros as any other mobile feature. So, now it depends on the person’s individual choice that whether they like PWAs or not.
