What is VPN and How does it works?

What is VPN?

The Internet is the jungle where all your activities are openly present and can easily be monitored by the ISP. Today when you surf the web or seeing some sensitive information, the threat of virus attack and data theft is always around you. So, if you want open the highly confidential documents of your work in the public WiFi hotspot and looking for safety portal for it, then you need VPNs, or Virtual Private Networks, which allows users to securely access a private network and share data remotely through public networks.

VPN is the service that allows users to connect to the internet with the help of VPN service providers. By using the VPN service, your data search on the internet is encrypted by the VPN and that means no one can access between you and your web activities. VPN travels the data between your computer, laptop, tablet, and smartphone via a VPN server only and ISP can’t get on that data. VPN provides users the security system to open the confidential file using the public network and keep the data safe from the unwanted threats. With the VPN server, users can “geo-spoof” their location in order to access services unfairly denied to them based on their geographical location. Now with the VPN, you can enjoy the Netflix while locating in India.

Well, to get the hold of dynamic VPN service you need to first signup for a VPN service, which typically cost between $5 – $10 a month (with reductions for buying 6 months or a year at a time). A contract with a VPN service is required to use VPN.

How do VPN works?

Well, usually when you connect to the internet, you firstly connects with the Internet Service Provider aka ISP, which further connects you to the website or the hosting page you are looking for. That means ISP can view all your web activities and the activities you perform on the internet are being viewed by the third party. But VPN service Provide provides you the encrypted service, which means known else can view your internet data and it is totally secured from ISP. The VPN connection to a server run by your VPN provider (a “VPN server”) via an encrypted connection (sometimes referred to as a “VPN tunnel”). So, the data traveled between your laptop and computer is fully secured by VPN.

Importance of using VPN server!

  1. VPN encrypts all your internet data search and hides it from the ISP.
  2. When you connect using the VPN server then your ISP address won’t be shown, instead your VPN server address is shown.
  3. VPN provides safety while using the public WiFi hotspot.
  4. Using VPN service is fully legal.

Privacy is the moral right of every person and if the person doesn’t want to share it with anyone, then VPN server is the right option. As VPN server safeguards the privacy of the users and allows them to search confidentiality. Using VPN service can be bit expensive, but few free VPN servers do exist, like CyberGhost.  But in my opinion, go for paid VPN service and safeguard your privacy.
